Braelon Allen has played his final game as a Wisconsin Badger.
The running back announced his intention to forego his final year of eligibility & declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Allen finishes with 3,494 yards, which ranks ninth-most in school history. His 35 touchdowns ranks just outside of the Top 10, while his per carry average of 5.9 yards ranks fourth all-time.
Allen came just 16 yards short of rushing for 1,000 yards this season. Had he accomplished that feat, he would have joined Ron Dayne & Jonathan Taylor as the only running backs to rush for 1,000+ yards in each of their first three seasons. However, Allen finished the year with his best work, running for 165 yards & two touchdowns as Wisconsin took Paul Bunyan’s Axe back from Minnesota.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper ranks Allen as the No. 10 draft-eligible running back, while Pro Football Focus has him ranked No. 10 as well & No. 125 overall.
With Allen gone & the uncertainty of whether Chez Mellusi will return for a sixth year at UW, the running back room includes scholarship backs of Jackson Acker, Nate White, & Cade Yacamelli, with another three players committed in the 2024 recruiting class.
